Lila Edna Walton Perry

Lila Edna Walton Perry, a gentle example of daily Christ-like living by always sharing and giving of herself and her worldly possessions, died August 1, 2026 at the age of 103. She was born November 21, 1922 to loving parents Leonard Harwood Walton and Edna True Grover Walton in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Walter David Perry III on March 23, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. Walt passed away on August 16, 2001. They both attended South High School. Lila then attended LDS Business College.

Lila’s hobbies centered around her family, homemaking skills, and genealogy. She also loved reading and traveling, as evidenced by her 4 full passports. She was Executive Director of the Salt Lake Rotary Club for 38 years. She received many awards and accolades from Rotary International, Rotary District 5420, and the Rotary Club of Salt Lake, which made her an Honorary Rotarian. She was a member of the Utah Genealogical Society, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Walton Price Family Organization.

A true disciple of the Savior, Lila has a firm and abiding testimony of the restored gospel and served as a leader and teacher in various church organizations. Her life was a tribute to faith and optimism. Loved by all who knew her, she will be deeply missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Richard Wayne (Babette) Perry, Ronald Douglas (Linda) Perry, Tom Michael Perry and daughter in law Julie Perry. She was preceded in death by her son Walter David Perry IV, and her daughter Diane True Perry and Gerald Parsons. Also preceded in death by siblings: Eldon Leonard Walton, Elaine Walton Reber, and Geneil Walton Bishop. She has 31 grandchildren and her posterity is continually increasing.

Funeral services will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, on August 10, 2026 at 11:00am, with a visitation from 10:00 to 10:45am.
