It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Liliya Reymer of Salt Lake City, Utah, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Born as the sixth of seven children, Liliya was a tenacious and ambitious woman whose unwavering determination allowed her to excel at everything she set her mind to. In her own words she was a “planner, organizer, career-driven and passionate person. Living day by day, enjoying self-development.”
Liliya found her greatest passion in serving others. Though she worked in various fields, her heart was drawn to the social work sector, where she recently devoted herself to helping individuals transition out of homelessness and sex-trafficking. Liliya was currently working on her bachelor’s degree in social work. Her compassion knew no bounds, as she spent her time distributing blankets and handmade scripture cards to those in need, embodying the love and grace of Christ in her actions.
Her love for others left an indelible mark everywhere she went, including her workplace. Liliya’s coworkers were so touched by her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love for others that they are creating and dedicating a garden in her memory—a living testament to the beauty she brought into the world and the lives she touched.
Liliya had a creative spirit and a gift for making people feel loved in tangible ways. She delighted in scrapbooking - transforming memories into art that could be cherished forever. She loved making her home beautiful, turning it into a haven of warmth and care. One of her greatest joys was creating personalized gifts for those she loved. She poured her heart into every detail to make others feel special and known. She also enjoyed cooking and cleaning for others as an act of service. She had a gift for finding deals and loved going bargain-hunting with her mom. She had an infectious laughter and witty sense of humor.
From a young age Liliya faced many strong headwinds in her life, but through every challenge, Christ faithfully brought her back to His love. Liliya’s life was a testament to God’s relentless grace and unfailing love. Though she faced many personal battles and seasons of wandering, the Lord never ceased to pursue her with compassion and mercy. Time and again, He rescued her from difficult paths, drawing her back into His arms and showing her the depth of His unwavering love. Liliya's story reflects the beauty of redemption and the power of God’s transforming grace. Her life shines as a beautiful reminder of how God never forsakes His children, pursuing them with patience and care, and ultimately guiding them into the fullness of His love and peace.
In 2021, Liliya professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Gospel Grace Church in October of 2022. The years since have been marked by profound transformation in her life. Over the past year, God worked powerfully in Liliya’s life, helping her grow tremendously in her ability to love, to forgive, and to trust Him. Liliya was a part of The Crossing Church in Las Vegas and frequently expressed her gratitude for the loving community of faith and various support groups she found there. Through the power of Christ, Liliya endured to the end, confident in the promise of Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Liliya’s love for her family was immeasurable. She adored her daughter, Tatiana, and worked tirelessly to love her better each day. She shared a caring bond with her husband Chris, and treasured their life together. They met in July of 2023 and were married on January 13, 2024. In Chris’ words, he loved her from the get-go, but it took longer for her to warm up to him. She shared a deeply special and unique bond with each of her siblings and strived to honor her parents. Her love extended to her nieces and nephews, whom she showered with thoughtful gifts and affection during every visit.
She is survived by her loving husband, Chris, and her cherished daughter, Tatiana. She also leaves behind her parents, Peter and Tatyana, her siblings Peter and wife Nadia, Olga and husband Dmitriy, Nate and wife Nikole, Irina and husband Chan, Erikh and wife Elena, Erika and husband Jotham, and her many adoring nieces and nephews: Anna and husband Quinn, Jacob, Natasha, Sarah, Mary, Paul, Emily, Eric, Mark, Eliana, Katie, Juliana, Linc, Jaden, Victoria, Theo, Eleanor, Aksel, Johanna, and Jonathan.
Shortly before her passing, Liliya had the blessing of spending meaningful time with her family, serving them with her whole heart and sharing sweet, unforgettable conversations. Her legacy of love, creativity, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
