Lois Love Wright

Raised in the Forest Dale area, Lois graduated from South High School. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Texas-Louisiana area, spending time in Dallas and San Antonio. Upon her return, she married Rex Owen Wright. Together they had one child and shortly thereafter were divorced. She then earned a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Utah. A committed educator, Lois taught at several elementary and junior high schools in the Salt Lake City School District where she retired after 33 years.

Lois was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, always reading, studying, teaching, and interested in learning more about the gospel. She participated in a family-home study group for decades, hosting it in her home for many years.

Music of all genres was a very important part of Lois’ life. From a very young age, she could be heard singing at countless church and social events and sang with a local women’s choir for many years. She loved the outdoors, mountains and beautiful sunsets, but above all, was devoted to her family.

Lois is survived by her son Douglas Paul Wright and his wife D.Ann Cleeton Wright; two grandchildren, Katy Love Wright Holton and her husband Avery Holton, Ian Eugene Wright and his wife Tyra Simmons Wright; and three great-grandchildren, Conrad and Brecken Wright, and Luna Love Holton. She was very fond of her nieces and nephew, their families, and the many cousins and relatives that she worked very hard to maintain relationships with over the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Eugene Love and his wife Bette Magleby Love, and grandson Eric Paul Wright.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Wilford Ward, 3080 So. Kenwood Street, Millcreek, Utah 84106 to be preceded by a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45 AM at the same location. An evening viewing will be held Friday night March 24, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, also at the Wilford Ward. Burial will follow the funeral at the Wasatch Lawns Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106.
