

Lorna May Wald Flickinger, 73, much loved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep July 24, 2014, in Orem, Utah, after a full life that was a legacy of love.Lorna was fittingly born on Valentine's Day February 14, 1941, in Salt Lake City to Ferdinand O. and Velma H. Wald. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City in 1959. She earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Utah in 1963. While there she served as Chapter and Inter-chapter Vice President in Lambda Delta Sigma sorority. She loved serving and was loving and caring to all who knew her.On June 18, 1964, she married Dwight Charles Flickinger in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. temple. Lorna put Dwight through law school by teaching both the fifth and sixth grade, which she loved. She also taught piano for four years during that time. This was a great passion for her that continued later in life, when she again taught piano to hundreds of students for another twenty-three years. She loved teaching and touched the lives of many.They were blessed with five children: Wendy (Jeffrey) Pedersen, Rod (Kacie) Flickinger, Mark (Diane) Flickinger, Troy Flickinger, and Craig Flickinger Also survived by her siblings Fred Wald, Oletta Wald Cummings, and Leonard Wald. She was preceded in death by her husband (September 4, 1939 - July 22, 2011), brother Gordon Wald, father Ferdinand Wald, and mother Velma Wald. Lorna was survived by her brother Fred Wald, and her sister Oletta Wald Cummings, and her brother Leonard Wald.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, at 1:00 pm at the Heatheridge Stake Center, located at 450 East 2000 North in Orem. A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 29, from 6-8 pm, and prior to the services from 11:30 am to 12:40 pm at the same location. Online condolences can be left at www.wasatchlawn.com.
