

Louis Jose Marquez was born to Patricio and Celina Marquez in Durango Colorado on May 12, 1935.
He attended Durango High School in Colorado. His parents signed him into the Navy at age sixteen where he got to see Japan and parts of Asia.
Louie married our mother Alicia Sanchez on June 14 1954 in Durango Colorado. Where they began their new life and shortly after moved to Salt Lake City where they started their family. Louie and Alicia had four children. Randy Lee, Shauna Teresa, Aaron Luke and Stefon Andrew Marquez.
Louie soon became interested in becoming and machinist so he pursued his journeyman and apprentice certificates to become a machinist for most of his working career. He worked at Ajax and then spent the majority of his career at United Precision Machine. Our father retired early only so he could help his wife start their new Business; Café Alicia in Bountiful Utah. They both ran a very successful business with the help of their family: Randy, Shauna and Stefon until they decided to retire and sell their restaurant to their son Aaron. They ended up falling in love with Yuma Arizona and became snowbirds there for many years until his wife Alicia passed away in 2009.
Louie loved fishing and would go with anyone at any time to fly fish the rivers of Colorado and Utah. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and getting away to see his relatives when he could.
Louie is survived by his three children and his brothers Eddie, Ernie Marquez and cousins. Many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Alice and son Randy.

Arrangements are entrusted to Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Saint Vincent Catholic Church.
Rosary and viewing will be held at Saint Vincent on Sunday February 7, 2021 @ 6:30pm.
Services will begin at Saint Vincent on Monday February 8, 2021 @ 11:30am followed by entombment at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
