Ready to walk into this life, Lyneve Wilson Kramer was born feet first in Salt Lake City, Utah, on December 16, 1936. Her loving parents, Lynn R. and Eva D. Wilson, adoringly combined their names to uniquely name her Lyneve.
At the age of 86 years, a little over a month ago, Lyneve fell, necessitating emergency hip surgery. Though Lyneve, with the help of many good people, worked hard to regain her mobility after surgery, it was not to be. She passed away peacefully in Draper, Utah, on March 31, 2023, surrounded by those she loved.
Lyneve lived a very happy life and worked through challenges with faith in Jesus Christ and through prayer to her loving Heavenly Father. She had many interests and loved to share her gifts and talents with others. In her own words, she said, “I have been able to transmit great inner joy through art and music. Once in a great while, people have received the joy I am trying to send through it. . . . I love Jesus Christ and try to transmit that through art, writing, and singing. Because of Him, I have learned to serve others, and that has brought love back to me.”
Lyneve has blessed many through her varied achievements as a: Model; Finishing School Graduate, Instructor, and Business Owner; Author; Artist; Singer; Drama & Speech Director; Speaker; Seamstress; Political Delegate; and State and Community Civic Servant; these roles filled her life with purpose and great joy as she worked to transmit her love of Christ to others.
Lyneve also enjoyed working part-time for 20 years for Wilson Products Company, a company her father and mother founded in 1939. Lyneve enjoyed her position in Wilson Products as a Corporate Secretary and later in Sales immensely.
“I felt like my life truly began when I married Larry,” Lyneve would often exclaim! Having met two handsome Kramer brothers at Liberty Park at the age of 15, the brothers flipped a coin to see which one would get to be with Lyneve. Larry, age 18, won! Within two weeks, Larry would drive Lyneve to school every morning; two months later, they were engaged, and seven months later, Lyneve, now age 16 years, would marry in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
Larry and Lyneve found their greatest joy in their family. Unitedly together, they continued to love each other and others throughout their life, especially family. In 1988 Lyneve was recognized and honored with the wonderful Outstanding Utah Mother Award, an unexpected but well-earned acknowledgment.
Lyneve is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel. She was a great teacher and influenced many in her service in various callings in both the ward and stake. She especially enjoyed serving as a missionary with her dear Larry in Manchester, England, beginning in 2002, as well as serving with him for many years as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple beginning in 2006.
After retiring, Larry and Lyneve moved to a lovely home they had built in St. George, Utah, until returning to live in Salt Lake City in 2014. They enjoyed retirement, spending time together at home, in service, with family and extended family, and traveling with family. When Larry passed away, Lyneve continued to serve others as an Ambassador at Sagewood Senior Living Center—a role she cherished in service to others for many years.
Lyneve is survived by her; son Kenneth (Josette) Kramer; daughters Cindy (Scott) McGlochlin, Karen Toombs, Michelle (Todd) Jones, and Camille (Jay) England; 25 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 23 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
