Mom was raised in the Salt Lake Valley and graduated from South High School in 1948. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a wonderful example of Christ-like love and generosity. People who knew her were amazed at her positive attitude and cheery nature despite suffering chronic back pain following an accident at the age of 15. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and her example of unwavering faith was an example to many.
Mom loved making chocolates and was famous for her cherry chocolates. She enjoyed skiing with her husband at their favorite place, Brighton Ski Resort. They adored each other and were often seen wearing matching outfits. Mom always let us know how much she loved us and was eager to hear “the latest” news in our lives. Mom, we love you soo much!
She is survived by her children, Farrall David (Lynda) Fairbanks, Marilynn (Michael) Brown, Florence (Mark) Morrise, Douglas Oleson (Theresa) Fairbanks, Anne Fairbanks, and John Edward (Alison) Fairbanks, by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and by sister in-law Thelma Oleson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband (Farrall); by three brothers La Mar, Granville and Cortland Oleson; by sisters Ruby Richards, Adele Milczarek, and Miriam (Mitzie) Leatherow; and by granddaughters Chrystal De Vargas and Jessica Lessien.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing hospice staff of Community Nursing Services, especially Joelle, Jeannie, Myrna and Matt for their loving care. We love you!
