Mom passed away peacefully on April 29th 2025 in the Riverton, Utah Beehive Home after many friends and family members visited her for a last good-bye.
Marilyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of and devotion to her Savior Jesus Christ was evident in her studies, could be heard in her conversations, was easily recognized in her service, and felt in her love and compassion for her family, friends, and communities near and far.
Marilyn had 4 older siblings she loved greatly. Wanda Sinkey (Don), John Arling (Norma), Geraldine (Kaye), Roger (Kay). All preceded her in death as did her parents that she adored and missed for years.
In her childhood her Dad, Bob Morrison, nicknamed her Punky. To her Nieces, Nephews and extended family she was Aunt Memo. To her Grandkids she was Grandmere, and to more than just her 6 children she was often called Mom.
She was married to C. Roland Clements for 24 years and created a family with 6 children: Leslie Clements (Jeff Mahoney), Carrie (Jared Davidson), Stanford R., C. David, Douglas R. (Sonia), Stephen M. (Amy). In the Clan she created there are also 18 Grandchildren, and 15 Great-Grandchildren with another one on the way. She had a second marriage to Thomas B. Ryan for 31 years and was with him until his passing in 2016. She was also fortunate to gain the love and appreciation from Tom’s 8 children as well as their spouses and numerous Grandchildren.
She would want you to remember how adventurous, athletic, and funny she was. Perhaps you rode horses with her, or went snow skiing, hiked or watched her slalom waterski or Boogie Board. She loved to travel in and out of the country. In the 50’s she was a stewardess for Frontier Airlines and told many stories of her love of planes and flying. Marilyn had a great sense of humor with a laugh that was unique and infectious. She had an inner and outward beauty that were both immediately noticeable. She often introduced herself saying, “I’m Marilyn, as in Monroe”. She thoroughly enjoyed every dessert you can think of and often ate 3 at a time. She sang Alto and had a fantastic voice, but preferred listening to great music and singers from all generations. These were just a few of her favorite things, along with her love of animals. Throughout her entire life she owned and cared for several cats and dogs that we are certain have been among the many that greeted her upon her transition from this life.
She also loved and respected the men and women of this country that served in the armed forces. She had Uncles, Cousins, Brothers, Nieces, Nephews, and Sons that all served honorably in the military.
There are many people that provided service to Marilyn over the last years of her life. The wonderful providers at the Riverton Beehive Home were especially kind and caring. Thank you Canyon Hospice for the gracious and kind services you provided to the end of Mom’s life. Thank you all so much, we love you all very much.
We are planning a Celebration of her Life where we can gather to share stories and give and get hugs from family and friends. We will notify all of you when that event is scheduled. Per Marilyn's wishes we will not hold funeral services. Private Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn.
While flowers are always welcome, Mom’s wishes are that you give generously of your time, talents, and resources to the service of others. Whether you give openly to a cause, or in secret to someone in need, her desires were for her friends and family to give from the heart freely in whatever capacity possible in order to help one another without judgement or expectations. She truly loved Jesus Christ and wanted to live and give in service to Him.
