Marion Brown Holbrook

Marion Brown Holbrook, 92, passed away on July 28, 2026. Born December 17, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Marion’s life was marked by a steady compassion and a kind-hearted spirit that touched those around her. She resided in Bountiful, Utah.

Marion was the daughter of Frank Brown and Elsie Louise Nielson. From her earliest days, she carried herself with a gentle regard for others—an enduring warmth that would become a defining thread throughout her life.

On September 4, 1951, Marion married Dean M Holbrook in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they built a family life rooted in care, devotion, and the quiet strength of love expressed through everyday kindness.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Dean M Holbrook; her sisters, Barbara Thornock and Jeanette Alen; and her brothers, Marvin Brown, Frankie Brown, and Richard Scott.

She is survived by her three children: Kurt Dean (Carrie Simpson) Holbrook, Gary Ray (Sally Warrick, deceased) Holbrook, Marianne Holbrook Foote, 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Marion will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for the compassion she showed so naturally, and for the gentle goodness that remained constant throughout her years.

Marion leaves behind a legacy of service and friendship. From a young age she cultivated lasting friendships and was an example of love and ministering to the one. Her children and grandchildren fondly remember the hours spent visiting family and friends. Whether it was delivering dinner to those who were sick, or alone playing hours of cards with friends. Marion was an example of sharing her love with others as they are, and always seeing the best.

Marion instilled a love of flowers and birds in all who came her way. Whether it was beautiful flower gardens outside or beautifully planted ceramics in her home, flowers could always be seen.Flowers will always serve as a reminder of her love and care for each of us.

A Graveside will be August 3rd, 2026 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park at 10am, with a viewing an hour prior at the mortuary.
