January13, 1957 to March 5, 2024
Mark, our beloved father, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family March 5, 2024. Mark courageously battled painful and difficult illnesses before his passing.
Mark was born January 13th, 1957 to Wayne Sorensen Zundel and Renee Glover Zundel. He was born and raised in Salt Lake. He was active in sports in high school on both the football and wrestling teams and won a number of awards. He worked on a small family-owned dairy farm during high school and bought his first car using the money he earned doing physically demanding work. He served a mission in Anaheim California. On his return he attended the University of Utah. He worked for Halverson Company for many years before he retired due to illness. He continued to be active and help those around him even as he dealt with increasingly painful medical issues.
Mark was the most loving, compassionate, kind-hearted and generous person. He was constantly learning and active and was involved with his family. His interests including fly fishing, wood-working, saltwater aquariums, and taking care of many animals. Mark was always so willing to help everyone, he will be truly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Jaime and stepchildren Kevin, Ryan, Rebecca and Moses, siblings Chris (Rice), Karen, Matthew and Daniel. He is predeceased by his parents, son Jeremy and stepsons Scott and Jared. Jaime, Kevin and Ryan were an incredible help to Mark especially in his last years.
