Marsha Lunt, age 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 20, 2019. She fought a short but valiant battle with inflammatory Breast Cancer. Marsha was the eldest of six children born to Lee Wallace and Norma Ellis Lunt on January 27, 1947 in Cedar City, Utah. She graduated from Olympus High School and attended the University of Utah and Southern Utah College.
Marsha had many talents and interests but was especially known for her cooking. It was her way of showing love for others. She worked in the field of banking, the Genealogy Dept. but found her true calling as a lab tech working for the Salt Lake Clinic and then Intermountain Medical Group. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities. She especially loved serving in Primary and being with the children.
She is survived by her siblings, Gregory, Geoffrey, Stacey and Kevin Lunt, all of Salt Lake City, nine nieces and nephews, 38 great nieces and nephews, with another on the way, 1 great grand niece and 1 great grand nephew, aunt, Kay Ellis Dunlap of Albuquerque, NM and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Maureen, grandparents, 4 cousins and many uncles and aunts.
Her family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful care she received from Dr. Margaret E. Van Meter, Tedette Fuller, RN and the Infusion Center at the Intermountain Medical Center. Also much thanks to Hearts for Hospice, especially Evan, RN.
Funeral services will be held at the Stratford Ward (2635 S. 1500 E) Salt Lake City Saturday, January 26th at 1 PM with visitation from 12 to 12:45 PM. A visitation will be held Friday, January 25th at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary (3401 S Highland Dr.) from 6-8 PM. Burial held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
