Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend Zoy passed away November 6, 2018 at age 100 just shy of her 101st birthday. She was born in Fairview, Utah on November 14, 1917 to Bernard Englebert Christensen and Lydia Margaret Pritchett.
Zoy married Raymond Cook in 1938. They had two sons: Raymond Gene and Gary Leon. They later divorced.
Zoy married Andrew Jackson Moffitt on September 10, 1945, and was later sealed in the Ogden, Utah Temple July 11, 1981. They had two daughters: Marie and Margaret.
She found joy in her four children and grandchildren, her flower garden, crocheting, and camping.
She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, embracing many callings. She served as Relief Society President while living in Green River, Wyoming, and for several years, she loved name extraction work in family history. She had a deep, abiding faith, and a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.
Zoy was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew ‘Jack’ Moffitt, and her daughter: Marie Medina Gonzalez (JR. & Leo). She is survived by her children: Raymond ‘Gene’ (Julia), Gary Leon (Cheryl ‘Chic’), Margaret Hart (Jerry Edward); 19 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Her wonderful influence encompasses generations.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 10, 2018 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held on Saturday prior to the services from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Interment at Wasatch Lawn.
The family would like to send our thanks and love to all those who cared for Zoy at the Star Valley Care Center in Afton, Wyoming. Your love and care for her was exemplary. She loved you all so much.
