At age 100 Maude passed away peacefully on April 2, 2013 in Orange, California.
She was born in Eunice, Missouri on February 25, 1913. She was married July 8, 1932 to Arlo J. Fairbanks. They were later sealed in the LDS Temple.
He preceded her in death on August 22, 1983. On August 25, 2001 she married Earl B. Jones.
Maude was a loving, devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Barnett Jones; son, Raymond L. Fairbanks (Marjorie); granddaughter, Sally Fairbanks Johnson (Larry); grandsons, Brent R. Fairbanks (Susan); and Matthew K. Fairbanks (Trisha); great grandchildren, Jennifer Fairbanks (Patrick Brandt), Michael A. Johnson (Breann), Matthew D. Johnson (Ashley), Daniel S. Johnson, Kayli C. Johnson, Benjamin H. Fairbanks, Emily J. Fairbanks, Nathan H. Fairbanks, and Samantha K. Fairbanks; great- great grandchildren, Alexa M. Johnson, Korrah L. Brandt, and Mason A. Johnson.
Maude worked for many years as the Executive Secretary for the Utah State Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. She was instrumental in the formation and the implementation of the University of Utah School on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies. Her goal in life was to make the world a better place by performing dignified and considerate service to others. In addition to her professional work, she was devoted to serving her family, church, and community.
Services will be held Saturday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Granite Stake Center 2005 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, 84106. A viewing will be held prior to the Memorial Service at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the same location.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
