Maxine J. Dykes

Heaven gained the best angel ever. Maxine Jenkins Dykes, age 93, passed away June 8, 2015 in South Jordan, UT. Born 9/10/21 to Arthur Jenkins and Marietta Pyper. Married Leo Billy Dykes on 11/22/40.

Maxine (Aunt Mac) loved the gospel, her family, traveling, gardening, handwork and kissing the back of babies necks. She made each and every grandchild feel like they were her favorite. She leaves a huge legacy of love and a hole in our hearts. However, we know she looked forward to being reunited with all of her family that went on before her. She had an infinite amount of patience raising her 9 children, despite all we put her through. She truly was a compassionate woman.

Preceded in death by her husband Bill of 66 years, and her son Jim. Survived by children: Karen (Ray) Evans, JoAnn (Curt) Clark, Marilyn Parry, Judy (Bryan) Johnson, Barb (Rob) Jackson, Glen Dykes, Wayne (Marsha) Dykes, Sherrill (Bud) Blanchard. 32 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great grandchildren.

We would like to express our thanks to the staff at Legacy House of So. Jordan and Brighton Hospice for their affectionate care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or kiss the back of a baby’s neck in her memory.

Viewing to be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Friday, June 19th from 6:00 -8:00 pm. Funeral services Saturday June 20th at 1:00 pm at Foothill 7th Ward, 2215 Roosevelt Ave, SLC, UT 84108. Viewing from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the funeral.
