Mitchell Glen Hamilton died on Saturday, November 9th, 2019. Mitch, or “Mit”, as his friends called him, was born on October 22nd, 1976 to Arlene Hansen and Dennis Hamilton. Mit loved all his family and friends deeply, and everybody loved Mitch.
Mitch spent years working in the natural foods industry, from Kathy’s Market, New Frontiers, Wild Oats, to Whole Foods Market. During these years, Mit developed many friendships and found his wife and soulmate, Jamie.
Mit had an affinity for the outdoors. He loved skiing, hiking, camping… all of it. He had more gear than any one person could ever need, including an OFWGG wagon. Mit sucked at disc golf. No, really. He was awful, but he always showed up for his friends.
Mitch had the best front porch in history. Seriously, if you have never spent time on the front porch, you missed out. It was true therapy for all, PBR probably owes us a lot of money. You could bring anything and everything to the front porch on Wilson Avenue, where Mitch lived for most of his later years. So many laughs, so many tears, all in the same spot. Mit was the best listener and the BEST friend. He always had an extra smoke and beer for friends who stopped by. Mit lived life to its fullest everyday. He didn’t sugar coat things; he told you what was on his mind. In the end, what was on his mind was too much.
Mitch is survived by his wife Jamie Hamilton; dogs Stella and Gus; his mother Arlene (Gary) Hansen; father Dennis Hamilton; brothers Brian, Josh, and Mark; sisters Denica and Andrea; his “Ma” Pat and “Pa” Duane Parkin; and other brother Albert, who spent quality time with Mit during his rascal years; nieces Alexis, Katie, and Morgan; nephews Khayman, Khayias, and Odin; and so many dear friends that this would become a novel if we started listing names.
Mitch, we will miss your laugh, your heart of gold, as well as your love of Uno, salted meat, and kipper snacks… all of you. Your angels Chandler and Nikki are waiting for you. Until we meet again, dear friend. Go Utes!
