Orrin Mason Jacobs

O. Mason Jacobs, age 85 of Cottonwood Heights, Utah passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was born on April 28, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elmo Ulysses Jacobs and Ruth Mason (Jacobs) Shaw, the third of seven children.

Following his graduation from Granite High School, he then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Central America (Guatemala/Honduras).

On November 15, 1962, he married Beatrice Cordelia Chavez. They raised five children, Eric David, Mia Lorraine, Carlos Jen, Sean Mason, and Christopher.

He spent his career as a Sales Representative for JB Tile Company but his passion was photography, both professionally and as a hobby. It was common for him to pull over on road trips to capture the beauty of nature, particularly the mountains and trees. His greatest joy, however was taking pictures of his loved ones during family get-togethers.

He is survived by his loving wife Beatrice, son Eric (Terri), daughter Mia, son Carlos (London), son Sean, son Chris (Eileen), 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister Karen, brother Paul (Shannon), brother Scott (Yvonne), brother Tony (Carrie) brother Steve (Jeri), and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Elmo and Ruth and brother Jen.

A viewing for Mason will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
