Patricia Louise George Hocevar, known to many as Patty, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 75. She will be remembered for her bright smile, her easy laugh, her deep Catholic faith, and the overflowing love she gave so freely to her family.
Patty was born on May 5, 1950, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Gloria Losh and Floren George. She grew up in Fairview Park, Ohio, and graduated from Fairview High School. She began her career in banking and was especially proud of becoming the first female escrow officer at Society National Bank in Cleveland before retiring to become a homemaker.
Patty had a joyful spirit and was always up for an adventure. Even in her later years, she was happy to drop everything for a little fun, whether that meant going somewhere new, sharing a beautiful cocktail, enjoying a delicious meal, or simply laughing with the people she loved. She was wonderfully goofy in the best possible way, with a warmth that made ordinary moments feel special. She loved folk music from the 1970s, especially Cat Stevens, and carried a sense of playfulness, curiosity, and love throughout her life.
Above all, Patty loved her family. In 2019, she moved to Utah to live with Katie, Joe, and Charlie, and those years together became a meaningful chapter in her life and theirs. Her love for her granddaughter Charlie was something rare and beautiful to witness. She adored Charlie with her whole heart, and the bond they shared was one of the great joys of her life.
Patty is survived by her daughter, Katie Bradford; Tim Hocevar and Nancy Ziemelis, whom she loved as her own; her grandchildren, Charlie Bradford, Olivia Ziemelis, and Chloe Ziemelis; and her seven siblings, Terry George, Tom George, Carol Apger, Chuck George, Bob George, Nancy Wilhelmy, and Bill George. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria Losh and Floren George.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, at St. Ladislas Catholic Church in Westlake, Ohio, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Patty’s honor. Loved ones are also invited to remember her by sharing a good meal, playing a favorite Cat Stevens song, and saying yes to a small adventure.
