Pat was born March 4, 1933 to William Raymond and Maude Collett Thomas. She joined her older sister, Shirley, to complete their family of four. She not only grew up in Salt Lake, but spent her entire life there.
She graduated from South High School and then went on to the University of Utah where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. After graduating from the “U” she married Bert Lloyd Humphries.
The light of her life were her sons Michael and Mark. Pat and the boys spent a lot of time in the early years with Shirley and her children; Tom, Gayle and Gary. Some of Pat’s favorite things in life were: teaching Primary in the East Millcreek 10th Ward, holidays (especially Christmas), Disneyland, University of Utah Basketball, the Utah Jazz, their motorhome club, traveling, and cheering on her boys in their long and successful adventures showing horses in open & AQHA shows. It was during this time that she became known as “Sweet pea”.
In 1983 Pat’s first grandchild, Nathan, arrived and soon he was followed by Daniel, Samantha, Sarah, and Aaron. She was a loving grandmother and always had special treats picked out for each of them every holiday.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maude, sister and brother in law, Shirley and Jim, and her husband of 63 years Bert. She is survived by her sons Michael (Sheri) and Mark (Maren), her grandchildren, as well as a great granddaughter, Josephine and extended family.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing a small graveside service will be held on July 27, 2020 at 2:00pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park & Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive.
