Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed peacefully in his home on
October 24, 2010 surrounded by family. Paul, the youngest of John and Albertina’s 14 children, was born at home on May 14, 1922, in Salt Lake City. He graduated from South High. He attended the University of Utah before serving in the Army in World War II as a radar specialist. He married Sylvia Ball, June 3, 1949; they had four children.
Sylvia passed away May 28, 1984. He retired from Linde/Union Carbide after 42 years. He married Beverly Jolley, December 2, 1986 and gained three additional children. Paul lived an active, wonderful life and loved to serve others. He loved the outdoors and scouting, and earlier this year was awarded the Scouting Life Time Achievement Award for decades of service. Most of all, he loved and is loved by his family.
Survived by: wife, Beverly; children: Doug (Denise); Joe; Peter (Dani); Paula Springer; Kris (Dean) Murdock; Susan Ince; Steven (July) Jolley; and sister, Edna Lyons. He has 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 at Cottonwood 12th Ward, 1750 E. Spring Lane, Holladay, UT at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., SLC, UT from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice. The family expresses great gratitude and thanks to the nursing staff at IMC and CareSource Hospice for their tender care, and special thanks to Dr. Melissa Corcoran and her staff.
