Ramon was a great man, with a benevolent and light heart. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and helped anyone he could that was in need. During WWIl Ramon Garcia was stationed in the Philippines with the 86th infantry division, where he secured supply lines and through his brave acts earned a Purple Heart under President Truman in 1946. After the war, Ramon began a family and had five loving children. He taught his children how to be tough and survive in the world, while at the same time to keep a light heart and to find the humor in life. Ramon also instilled this positive yet persevering attitude in the Garcia children for generations to come. Ramon was also a hard worker while he was with HOWA Construction so that his children could be raised without want. Ramon was a man of simplicity, but also a man who was not afraid of adventure and a little mischief. Ramon Garcia will be remembered for his mischievous laugh and quiet, thoughtful reserve. He was a quiet man, but his words weighed heavy in the minds of those to whom he spoke. He provided guidance, stability, and unconditional love to his family as he was the patriarchal rock that everyone in his family leaned on at one time or another. On December 13, 2014 Ramon Chavez Garcia passed surrounded by his numerous loved ones as they said goodbye to this great man. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by his family, and those whom he helped along the way.
