Reed passed away on July 27, 2024 of complications following some blood clots.
Reed was born on March 17, 1935 in Salt Lake City to Elmer Emerson Kendall and Fern Robertson Kendall. He married Sandra Lindegren on March 23, 1956. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on January 7, 1966.
Reed put a ring on his beloved sweetheart when she was 14. He was deeply in love with her. Dad was lost without her.
Earlier in their marriage, they had fun on many camping trips with family and friends. Reed loved going to Torrey on their trips to visit friends and to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Dad was a truck man. He and his father owned a Kendall and Kendall Trucking Company. Dad started driving truck when he was 14 driving the Price run. He loved the trucking business and working side by side with his dad. Dad would say his prayers daily.
He had genuine interest in people and was a fantastic story teller. People really enjoyed hearing the stories about his life and the places he had been to. Dad was the enforcer in our family. We knew right from wrong. Reed was a good provider and saw that his families needs were met.
He is survived by his daughter Kay Lynn Balluff (Jim) and extended family who will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra, his son, Mark (Carolyn).
Funeral services will be Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services at the same location. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
