Richard Frank Bodell passed away after a long and valiant battle with cancer. His devoted family and unwavering faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Richard was born March 13, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Blaine Bodell and Marie Burton. The need for his love, strength and compassion were always needed as evidenced by his numerous callings in the LDS Church which included Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Sunday School President, Stake High Councilman as well as bishopric duties both as a counselor and bishop himself. His favorite church calling was the eight years he would instruct many generations of youth as an early morning seminary teacher. Richard married his eternal companion, Diana C Torres, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 23, 1979. They later moved with their three children to University Place, Washington and had the marvelous opportunity of raising the family in their beloved Pacific Northwest where he lived for 24 years. He loved being a husband and a father yet never felt he could fully articulate the joy he got from being "Paca" to his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years; his sons, Doug (Amy) and Brian (Jennifer); his daughter, Kaycee (Jared); his grandchildren Brooke, Hailey, Owen, Dace, Jack and Harley; his sister, Karen: and his brother, Blaine. He is preceded in death by his sister, Susan; and his parents.
