

Richard grew up in Salt Lake City, attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah. He served as a missionary in Uruguay for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which was a great foundation building experience in shaping the rest of his life.
Richard was an active and committed Latter-day Saint and served as a Bishop and in many other callings, and always as a faithful home teacher. He had a strong and unwavering testimony of the mission of the Savior and the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the latter days.
He served as an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was employed by David W. Evans Advertising both in Salt Lake City and in Seattle, WA. His second career was with Primerica, a financial services company which took him to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where he found great success.
He loved the outdoors including fishing, camping, and hiking. From early days he loved the family cabin in Lamb’s Canyon and later built his own long dreamed of cabin in Lamb’s Canyon which he was able to share with family and friends.
He was a man with an entrepreneurial drive that lead him to many adventures in this life. He loved both BYU and U of U football and was committed to watching all of their games.
Richard is survived by his 3 sons Darrell Jennings, Allan Jennings, Brian Jennings, 1 daughter Rebecca Jennings, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and his sister Carolyn Godfrey. He is preceded in death by his parents Brenton William Jennings and Jean Ridges.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, with a viewing 1 hour prior to services. Interment to follow at Salt Lake City Cemetery 200 North Street E.
