

He was born on July 15, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Alfred and Julia Leppard. On August 22, 1968, he married the love of his life, Linda Wagstaff, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They shared 56 wonderful years together.
Dick is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, and their children: Tamee (Kevin) Schmerse, Cindy (Todd) Alder, Scott (Rikki) Leppard, and Mark (Elena) Leppard. He is also survived by his brothers, William (Chris) Leppard and Jim (Kathy) Leppard. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 7.
A graduate of Skyline High School’s inaugural class, Dick went on to serve as a sergeant in the United States Army Reserve. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah, where he also worked as a teaching assistant in computer science. His career as a computer specialist spanned roles at Kennecott and Unisys, and he played a key role in establishing the FBI's computer system in Columbus, Ohio. As a private computer consultant, his expertise took him across the country and around the world.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dick had a passion for sports. He was an avid competitor in softball, racquetball, golf, bowling, snow skiing, and waterskiing —proudly achieving a perfect 300 game in bowling. He also loved being a fan, enthusiastically supporting his favorite teams. More than anything, he took great pride in cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, dance recitals, and music performances.
A devoted and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dick was a convert to the church and served in many leadership callings and found great joy in his faith. In recent years, he developed a love for genealogy and family history work, dedicating time to preserving the stories of his ancestors.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Skyview Ward, 1361 E 4000 S, Millcreek, UT 84124. A viewing will take place from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Interment : Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr, Millcreek, Utah 84106.
Dick’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community will be cherished forever.
