Roberta Maxine Oughton Stone

Roberta Maxine Stone, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on 5/14/2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 23, 1941, Roberta lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Stone III; her mother, Betty Nelson; and her sister, Charlotte Nelson.

Roberta is survived by her three children: George “Sandy” L. Stone IV, Babett Shewell, and Amber Stone. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: George “Sam” L. Stone V, Alysha Stone, Mallory Shewell, Miranda “Harley” Shewell, Alizea Richins, and Orion Feickert.

Roberta’s heart was fullest when she was with her grandchildren, whether sharing stories, laughter, or quiet moments of love. She had a keen eye for hidden treasures, spending many joyful hours exploring thrift shops and yard sales. In her later years, she found great happiness in traveling, especially on cruise ship adventures that took her from the sunny shores of the Bahamas to the icy beauty of Alaska.

Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and love for life will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of Roberta’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106. An evening viewing for Roberta will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
