Robin Anne White Young

Robin Anne White Young died peacefully from complications due to Alzheimer's dementia, though some say of a broken heart, on September 9, 2026 in Paris, Tennessee, aged 72. She was born on December 4, 1953 at Corona Naval Hospital, California, firstborn child & elder daughter of Gary Hon and Georgianne (Poulsen) White. She grew up with a sparkle in her eye and a love for the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and classic rock, in Salt Lake City. She attended Morningside School, Churchill Jr. High and Skyline High School, where she was a straight "A" student. An accomplished pianist with over 10 years of extensive musical training, her teachers noted that Robin played from her heart and had exceptional talent. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she was the pianist for Sunday School, but found it challenging to share her talent with others. She wanted to feel things in her own way and the few she shared her music with marvelled at her abilities.

Though shy, Robin was well spoken, intelligent, funny and sensitive. She felt every moment, every sound and every person that crossed her path. She carried herself with poise and grace, exceptionally well dressed on every occasion. Stunningly beautiful, as a young woman, and well into adulthood, she was approached by modeling agencies with offers to New York and beyond. She simply had it all.

After graduating Skyline High in 1972, Robin married Robert James Young, on October 26, 1972, and gave birth to two beautiful children, Angela Laurie and Adam James Young. Her career began at Blue Cross Blue Shield, then she served in management positions at Red Mountain Spa and Victoria's Secret, winning numerous national sales awards. She graduated in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Irvine, California. Her expertise was in creating her own custom draperies. She sewed, painted furniture, wall papered and orchestrated her own designs from start to finish. The final results were magazine ready, with quality down the finest detail. With her husband, Robin spent years transforming historic homes in the avenues of Salt Lake City and along the golf course in St. George, where she and her husband relocated for its sunny weather and relaxation after their children had grown. Robin and her husband, who was her soulmate, her everything, were married for almost 50 years. In addition to sewing and her interior design pursuits, Robin enjoyed shopping, dining and a good glass of wine. She kept up with the latest trends, calling the ‘Real Housewives’ her friends, with a laugh. Las Vegas, where she lived and designed homes, was a favorite city. She also enjoyed golf and driving her Jeep through the red rock of Zion. She and her husband formed a bowling team with her sister and brother-in-law, which Robin affectionately named ‘The Youngs and the Restless.’ Pro-woman, she voted accordingly. Most of all, Robin was kind and classy, always striving to do the right thing, the perfect woman in an imperfect world.

After the deaths of her husband and her daughter, she moved to be closer to her cousin and best friend Heather, in Mount Juliet, Tennessee outside Nashville. Her lifelong dream of going to Paris, was somewhat fulfilled when she moved near her son in Paris, Tennessee, the place she took her final breath. As she felt everything very much, perhaps too much, her grief over the loss of her husband and daughter, whom she loved so deeply, was a lot for Robin to bear. It brings great comfort that they are now together again. "The Sound of Music" was a favorite film and the song Climb Every Mountain would be the message this daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend would want to be the message she leaves us. She’d proclaim “That it is best to have had and lost, than to never have had at all.” She will be missed forever.

Robin is preceded in death by her father Gary Hon White, her stepfather Robert Gerald Dannels, her husband Robert James Young, her daughter Angela Laurie Young as well as her many grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved.

She is survived by her mother, Georgianne Dannels of Midvale, Utah, her son Adam James Young (Tarrah) of Paris, Tennessee, her two grandchildren Nicholas Hymas and Zachary Hymas of South Jordan, Utah, her three siblings Lisa Dawn Maden of Midvale, Gary Stephen White (Jennifer) and Patrick Kennedy White both of Riverton, Utah. As well as aunts, nieces, cousins and numerous relatives throughout the country.

Robin will be laid to rest alongside her daughter Angela, which was her final wish. Surrounded by the majestic mountains of Utah, in the place she loved most. At last, she will be home!

Services will be held Thursday September 17, 2026 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106 at 11:00am, with a viewing one hour before.
