"Rube"Salt Lake City, Utah-I passed away reluctantly on April 19, 2014 from cancer. I was born July 6, 1926 to Bessie Price Shuput and Steve Shuput, the 8th child of 12. I graduated from West High School and after graduation went into Nurses Training at Holy Cross Hospital. I graduated from Holy Cross Nursing School in 1947 and worked in the medical profession for 50 years. I worked for Drs. Leo and James Warenski for 32 of those years. I married "Mike" Emanuel Kladis June 15, 1947, whom I have loved so very much for almost 67 years.I am so proud of my perfect son, Michael, daughter-in-law Kris, 2 wonderful grandsons, Stephen and Rick. I was delighted to welcome a special addition to our family with Rick's marriage to Kristin in November of 2013.I am survived by 2 brothers Pete (June) and George (Dottie) Shuput and many nieces and nephews whom I am very fond of.I am preceded in death by my siblings Anne, Mike, Millie, Dan, Sophie, and Mary Shuput, Bob, Jenny and Steve Repich.I loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining. I made Greek cookies every year at Christmas until I could no longer do so. I loved going to our cabin in Pine Mountains that Mike built and started a tradition of getting together there for dinner that everyone in the family enjoyed.I had my famous "Nurses Club" to the cabin every year for many years until the "girls" no longer could make the trip.I love my Godsons David Katsanevas and John Sargetakis dearly and appreciate the many thoughtful and kind things they did for me through the years.I thank my dear friends Margaret, for our 70 years of friendship and Claire - I will miss our 7:00 p.m. calls every evening. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 24, 2014 at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church 5335 South Highland Drive at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:00 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive.I love flowers, but in this case, please consider a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute to help find a cure for this horrible disease. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/saltlaketribune/obituary.aspx?n=ruby-s-kladis&pid=170738820&fhid=11609#sthash.Y9YMPV3O.dpufArrangements under the direction of Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, Salt Lake City, UT.
