It is with profound sadness & heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Sandra Fay Goldberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother at the age of 78 on May 18, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in the Bronx, New York to Harold & Beatrice Needleman on July 1,1947 and attended Evander Childs High School & Dominican College.
Sandi met her soul mate, Dave Goldberg, at the movies when she was 14 years old. They were married on April 17, 1970 and were happily married for 56 years, 1 month & 1 day, but their love story spanned 64 years. They moved to Brooklyn after getting married where they lived for 2 years until they found a giant snake living in the walls of their 4th floor walk-up and immediately moved to Dumont, New Jersey, where they soon after had their first child, Beth. They then decided to build a brand-new home in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey where they had their second child, Wesley & lived for 37 years.
Sandi was a proud congregant of Temple Emanuel where she became a Bat Mitzvah as an adult at the age of 48, sang in the choir, led minyan, and attended Shabbat services regularly.
Sandi & Dave built multiple successful businesses together including Ormont Office Supply which they owned an operated for 20 years before they sold and started Millennium Visual Systems where they worked side by side for another 10 more years. Sandi handled all of the purchasing and could tell you the SKU of any one of thousands of office supplies or LED signs off the top of her head and loved hanging out in the warehouse with her dogs before they retired and moved to Utah to be close to their 4 grandchildren who were their pride & joy. They then joined Congregation Kol Ami where they forged many friendships before joining Chabad Lubavitch of Utah.
Sandi loved to travel, play tennis, play the piano, bowl, sew, and embroider. But her favorite hobby was playing mahjongg which she played for 50 years. She loved her dogs, 3 bichon frisees named Reggie, Spencer and Benji. Most of all, she loved her family fiercely and her favorite thing to do in the world was be heavily involved with her grandkids. She never missed a birthday, flying to Utah from NJ for every single one, or a performance, game or event once she lived here. She was all of her grandchildren’s favorite cheerleader. She was so very proud of both of her children, Wes & Beth as well. She bragged constantly about their accomplishments.
She was loving, she was kind, she was so much fun, but most of all she was sweet to everyone. She had a smile that lit up the room & a laugh that was infectious. She was always up for new adventures. She’d try anything. She’d eat anything. In fact, her family called her the human garbage can – step on her foot and her mouth would open! Sandi’s biggest vice was coffee. She drank 10 cups a day and was rarely ever seen without her coffee mug. She will be remembered for all of these things and so much more with love.
Sandi is survived by her husband Dave, children Wesley (Kristen) and Beth (Jeff), and grandchildren Taylor (Tyler), Brynnley, Rider, and Jessie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice & Harold Needleman, mother & father-in-law Ben & Helen Goldberg who she loved like her own, and most recently her sister, Judi Feirstein, who she is most certainly laughing and giggling with in heaven.
A private service for family will be held Thursday, May 21 and a memorial gathering open to family and friends will be at held at her son Wes’ home located at 10 Bentwood Lane, Sandy, UT from 5:00-10:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chabad Lubavitch of Utah or the American Cancer Society.
