Scott Angus Lambson, born on January 8, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jack and Jean Lambson, the youngest of eight children. He attended Mount Vernon Academy in Murray, Utah and served an LDS mission in Oklahoma City, OK. A resident of Salt Lake City for his entire life, Scott leaves behind a legacy defined by devotion and passion, qualities that were deeply rooted in his roles as a husband, father, coach, and filmmaker.
Throughout his journey, and despite a few health challenges along the way, Scott embraced the world with a heart full of passion. His love for sports was evident as a skilled high school athlete in basketball and baseball and then later in his influential role as a high school soccer, baseball and basketball coach. Guiding young athletes, he not only imparted skills but also life lessons, culminating in the remarkable achievement of leading his basketball team at Mount Vernon to a 1A High School State Championship victory. His coaching extended beyond the professional sphere to his personal life, where he lovingly coached his son Jackson’s baseball team, creating memories cherished by both father and son.
His creative spirit led to a successful career as a television producer, directing music videos and commercials and eventually found a home in documentaries and filmmaking, a medium where he excelled and was recognized as a Utah Film Festival Award Winner. Scott’s films encapsulate his love for storytelling and his desire to capture the beauty and complexity of the human experience. This creative endeavor was one of the many facets of his life that brought him joy and fulfillment.
Scott married the love of his life, Ashley. Together they have two children Jackson and Ella. His devotion to his family was unparalleled, sharing countless adventures. Family outings to the zoo and Bee's games were highlights in Scott’s life, moments that will be cherished forever in their hearts.
A die-hard fan of the Oakland A's and BYU, Scott found joy in supporting his favorite teams, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family alike. These communities brought him camaraderie and friendships that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
Scott's passing is mourned by his devoted wife, Ashley, who stood by him through all the joys and challenges life brought their way, and children Jackson and Ella. He is also survived by his father, Jack, and siblings Jeff, Kelly, Mike (Britney), Marty, Stacey (Paul), and Wesley. Preceding him in death were his mother, Jean, and brother, Roger.
