Sharleen Burton Breese
February 4, 1964 – March 9, 2023

Sharleen Burton Breese passed away, returning to her Heavenly Home, on March 9, 2023 peacefully at her home after a valiant fight with cancer.
Sharleen Burton Breese was born on February 4, 1964 to Martin John Burton and Anarene Randall Burton. She is preceded in death by her mother Anarene Randall Burton. Sharleen is the second of 7 siblings and is survived by the family she was born into namely: Her father Martin John Burton, her siblings Joani (Greg) Shaw, Diane (Tony) Mallory, Cherie (Dave) Musacchia, Marsha (Larry) Hill, Kevin (Tiffani) Burton, Monica (Aaron) McCombs. She is also survived by the family she married into, and whom she also loved dearly. Betty and Leon Breese, Morna Breese, Marie Breese, Dwayne Breese. Finally she is survived by the family she created whom she held close to her heart and for whom she gave her all, her husband Norman Clifford Breese and her daughters Kristina Breese and Melissa Breese.
Additionally, she will be missed by many other family and friends. If you knew her, you were her friend. She loved large and gave her friendship and smile easily. Her ability to connect with others was one of her spiritual gifts. Sharleen had a pure heart, without malice and had "truly a love of God and all man."
Sharleen grew up in Salt Lake City, in the Canyon Rim East Millcreek) area. Sharleen attended Olympus High School and graduated in 1982. She then attended Salt Lake Community College from which she graduated with an Associate's Degree. Sharleen was full of vigor and embraced life enthusiastically. During her time at Salt Lake Community College, she became involved with campus life. She especially enjoyed being a member of the Institute for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There she developed a group of friends, and met her life long love, Norman Breese. Sharleen loved to play games at the Institute and sang in the choir.
Sharleen is a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She shared her love of the gospel and the joy it brings in life to all who knew her, especially in her last days on Earth. She shared many times how grateful sha is for eterna; families and she knows that life continues forward.
Sharleen truly applied the gospel teachings of righteous living in all she did, and taught those principles to her children. Sharleen is a great example of honesty, courage, and of how to find joy in the little things of life. She wore a smile everywhere she went.
In her work, Sharleen used her gifts of math, budgeting and the ability to connect with people to eventually become the manager of many of the places she worked. She worked for Piece Goods Fabric Store, The Jordan River Temple (Food Service) and Summit Academy Charter Schools (Food Service) and for Smith's Grocery Store.
Sharleen loved the outdoors. She loved to go camping, hiking and being in nature. She loved to sit by a campfire, look at the stars and sing girls camp songs from her youth which she taught to her daughters. Sharleen loved to go for drives, and see the mountain views. She enjoyed the many vacations she took with her family to Bear Lake, The Spruces Campground, Tony Grove, Hyrum Dam, The Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.
Sharleen had a love of music, especially Country Music. She enjoyed the spiritual songs of joy and peace, especially Primary Songs. She served as a Primary Teacher for many years and loved it.
She had a lifelong love of dogs.
The family wishes to thank all those who have joined them through this last year as Sharleen has fought her battle with cancer. There has been a wonderful and large outpouring of love from family, friends, community and church members.
Funeral Services will be held March 18, 2023. The location will be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 6500 South Dixie Drive. A viewing will be held at 9:30. Her Funeral Service will be held from 11:00am to noon.
Graveside services will be from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106
