Sharon Maureen Hamilton

Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, Sharon Maureen Hamilton peacefully passed away in her sleep Nov 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born Nov 10, 1946, to Henry and Maureen Buma in Salt Lake City, UT. She graduated from Olympus High School. In 1964, Sharon married her high school sweetheart, M. James Hamilton. They were later divorced. They had two children who were the pride and joy of her life.

Sharon was proud of her work at Delta Airlines where she was recognized for her exceptional achievements. Sharon loved spending time with family & friends, especially while boating at Flaming Gorge or Lake Powell. She was an exceptionally talented knitter and leaves behind many beautiful scarves, sweaters, and blankets as keepsakes.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother Neil. Sharon is survived by her loving children, Stephanie and Chris; siblings Brent (Carol) Buma, Tom (Gina) Buma, Tracy (Mark) Zahler, and Jeff (Dee Ann) Buma; 3 granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, and her beloved cat “kitty”.

Per Sharon’s request, there will be no formal service. Instead, a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In honoring Sharon’s memory and embracing her carefree approach to life, her family encourages those touched by her life to “go out and buy something you don’t need and can’t afford!”
