Our sweet mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Sharon Roberts Smith Phelps passed away February 24, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 25, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dorothy Ilene Roberts & William Earl Newbold.
Sharon Attended Lafayette Elementary, Horace Mann, and West High. She married Merlin L Phelps on August 28, 1958 and was later divorced. They had two beautiful daughters, Vickie Lee Bixby and Kelly Rae Phelps.
Sharon loved her little tortoise, Timmy who brought her so much happiness. She loved her family and friends dearly. Sharon also loved flowers and watching the birds at the bird feeder she provided. She will be greatly missed.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Merlin Phelps, her son Scott Earl Phelps, and her brother Jeffery Newbold. She is survived by her children, Vickie and Kelly, grandchildren, Derrick Phelps, Emily Medina, and Eric Hanson, her brother Steve (Susan) Newbold, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 3, 2018, 12:00pm at the Rose Park 4th Ward, 760 N 1200 W (East Chapel). Visitation will be prior to the service 10:30-11:45 am.
