Shawn Alexander Barrett

Shawn Alexander Barrett, age 21, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 in Logan Utah. Shawn was attending Utah State University at the time of his death. He was born October 26, 1994 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City Utah to Glenn and Stephanie Barrett. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended Escalante Elementary and West High School. He was in the ELP and IB programs. He enjoyed singing in the West High a cappella choir. He was a four year Seminary graduate and was one of the few students to memorize every scripture mastery scripture. He received a scholarship to Brigham Young University and majored in Civil Engineering. After two years he transferred to Utah State University, continuing in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics and water systems.

Shawn was thoughtful, organized and loved to serve others. An example of this service is his joining the Engineers Without Borders service group.

Shawn is preceded in death by his sister Jessica Lynn Barrett; grandparents, Donald M Cole, William Glenn Barrett, and Varda Rose Barrett. He is survived by his three brothers Matthew, Ryan and Andrew and his parents.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Chapel, 3401 S Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will take place at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
