

An ordinary man of faith. Loving Father and Grandfather. Graduated on May 9, 2024. Bud was born September 19, 1939 to Elmer P. Slack and Melva B. Slack. He married Terry Rae Wilko in the Logan LDS Temple on August 28, 1963. Bud graduated from South High School and then attended the University of Utah. He served a mission in the Central British Mission where he formed lifelong friendships. He was especially close to Roger and Ken whom he considers to be his brothers. He served in the Air National Guard Reserves and Army.
He was employed by Utah Power and Light for 35 years. After retirement he taught for several years giving safety demonstrations to schools, scout groups and adult groups on behalf of Utah Power and Light. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings, mostly as a teacher of the Gospel. Bud made it a point to testify to the family of his faith in the Savior Jesus Christ. His favorite calling was that of Member.
Bud enjoyed fishing, scrapbooking, supporting his grandchildren in their various activities, Super Bowl parties, vacationing with friends and family celebrations. Bud was a fierce defender of his faith and advocate for his children. He was particularly fond of his grandchildren. Other pastimes were listening to The Beach Boys, eating fish and chips, McRibs, and drinking a cold Diet Coke. He enjoyed sharing the feel of his hat after a long day of working in the yard and maintaining his house. He hated chickens, butter and technology.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Terry Wilko Slack, sons Brad Gary Slack (Julie), Todd Wilko Slack (Jamie) and daughter Mindy Slack McMillan (Sean) and a sister Norma Parry. Eight grandchildren; Madison Slack Hawley (Grant), Noah Slack, Emmie Slack, Henry Slack, Owen Slack, Milo McMillan, Finn McMillan and Otis Bud McMillan.
Preceded in death by infant daughter DeBryn Michelle Slack, parents Elmer P. and Melva B. Slack.
A family gathering and prayer will start at 9:00am on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah. A graveside service will follow for close family and friends at 10:00am.
