Here is the text extracted from the provided PDF document:Susan (Suzi) Marie Giles Flandro passed away peacefullly October 5, 2026 at Aspen Ridge Skilled Nursing where she was undergoing Transitional Rehab after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer August 2026. Susan was born June 24, 1950 in Heber City, Utah to Morris Giles and Ida Jean Atkinson Giles.
Susan graduated from Highland High School June 1968. She spent her younger years in the Sugar House area where she was a dedicated hard worker which ever company she was at and culminating with 29 years at Cowan's Retail Systems until Covid where she worked in accounting and administration until becoming Supply Sales Manager. She developed a devoted customer base of restaurant, retail and hotel establishments in the Salt Lake-Park City area and into and neighboring states. Her typical day started with her going to the office before the sun was up, preparing her paperwork and invoices then loading the back of her Yukon Dennali-PAPRRLS license plate- with 35-50 pd boxes of register paper, ribbons & supplies and driving 100+ miles per day calling on her customers and making deliveries.
Suzi loved life, lived it to the fullest with a positive attitude and tremendous sense of humor and satire and always planning for the next birthday, holiday or special event with family and friends. Cooking extra large portions was her specialty. She was a long time member of the Van Winkles private club, now the Highlander Pub, where she had numerous friends over the years and enjoyed many years of camping trips with friends and their kids growing up. She met her husband Bill there shortly after he moved to the Salt Lake area in 1990. Weekly golf times were numerous during summers and many planned golf trips to St George, Mesquite and Ketchum-Sun Valley, Idaho where her husband Bill had a family condo and had lived and worked in the 1970's. She hosted her own yearly golf tournament out of the club for many years and easily filled it up and carried on with her husband. They even planned overnight camping golf trips to places like Gladstan and Wasatch. They purchased a great trailer and golf cart that they parked around 4 seasons in Morgan at the Round Valley golf course where the grand kids loved cruising in that golf cart.
2 dogs at a time of various breeds were always part of the family and she leaves behind Sunny an Aussie Doodle about 3 years old.
A few years after retirement Suzi was struck with COPD which eventually burdened her the necessity of full time oxygen. The many visits to various Doctors she often had them and their assistants in stitches with her salty smart ass comments and sense of humor. For a long time she kept a good attitude and kept busy upstairs by the bedroom window with a large puzzle board doing hundreds of puzzles, often getting up at 2 am and puzzling through the night. She talked frequently with her very good friend Debbie Gundersen and looked forward to Friday's when Bill would take her over to Debbie's for afternoon visits often with other friends where she could partake of a couple Scotch & Waters.
Susan is survived by her husband William (Bill) E Flandro, married July 11, 2009, her daughter Billi Sue Carpenter, currently of Detroit Michigan, son William Cody Carpenter of Taylorsville, UT, three grandsons Jayden Keeling, Devin Carpenter & Rex Carpenter, and sister-in law Patti Besselievre and her daughter Alyson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald M Giles in 2018. Her oldest grandson Jayden when he began talking out of the blue started calling Suzi "BICA" and no one knew where it came from but the name has lived to this day with her other two grandsons family and friends.
A Celebration of Suzi's life will take place at a later date. More information to come.
