Takako Marianne Suzuki, age 97, passed away June 24, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born August 11, 1915 in Los Angeles, California to Umataro Yoshida and Kaji Iwata. She married John Ichiro Suzuki on August 16, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois.
Mom was a direct communicator, some might describe as blunt. She loved to go to Wendover and her trips to the casinos continued well into her late 80's. She was proficient in both English and Japanese. She was a member of the Japanese Church of Christ. Her creative outlet included water color paintings and macramé.
Takako is survived by her daughters Karen Suzuki Okabe and Marsha Finstrom; three grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of fifty years John Ichiro Suzuki.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, July 1, 2013 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr., where friends may call one hour prior to services.
