Teresa T Montanez

Teresa T. Montanez passed away peacefully on March 7th in her home in Salt Lake City. Teresa was born to her loving mother, Juanita Torres, on November 4th 1927 in El Paso, Texas. In September of 1950 she married the love of her life Tomas Montanez. They were married for 67 years before his passing in 2017.

Teresa was the cherished matriarch of her family. She made many sacrifices for her family. She was strong, wise and always put her family first. She loved to cook and feed her family. Gathering everyone in her home for Sunday meals was the fixed axis that all their lives would rotate around. She will always be profoundly loved by her family. The only pain she ever caused is when she left us. Now she’s at rest with her Tommy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the hospice care workers of Signature Healthcare at Home.

Teresa is survived by her three children Tomas (Rebecca) Montanez, Jerry (Shauna) Montanez, Lydia Montanez Green, her sister Amalia Valdez, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Private services will be held.
