Therese Marie Hillery's loving (and squeaky!) heart ceased beating on December 7, 2023 and she returned home to her Heavenly Father and her sweetheart, Don, leaving behind 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
She was born April 11, 1931 in Los Angeles,California, the youngest child of Henry Hilaire Vadenais and Madeleine Marie Barbarin.
She married Donald Lee Hillery three times -- first, when they eloped to Boise, Idaho on April 15, 1949 (and never told their parents), second, on September 9, 1949 in Los Angeles, and third, when they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on their 21st anniversary.
Terry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, filling many callings over the years (and loving the rowdy little boys she taught in Cub Scouts!) She served with her husband, Don, as a missionary at the Washington DC Temple.
Surviving are sons, Glenn Hillery of Bluffdale, UT; Bruce Hillery of Pleasant Grove, UT; Donald Hillery, Jr. of Clayton, CA; daughters, Charliece Hillery and Louise Zabriskie of Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Jena Hillery Catanzaro, Meghan Hillery Lang, Benjamin Hillery, Dustin Hillery, Sarah Hillery, Jarom Hillery, Derek Hillery, Nathan Zabriskie, Ross Hillery, Peter Zabriskie, Samuel Zabriskie, and Isaac Zabriskie.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Olympus Cove Ward, 4407 South Fortuna Way, in Salt Lake City, where family and friends may visit from 11:00-11:45 a.m., prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Olympus Section. Funeral Directors, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
