Our loving Father, Grandfather, and Uncle was called home October 27th, 2022. Tommy was born June 16, 1933, to Marlon and Dula Fields. He was born in Wichita, Kansas as his parents were traveling to Los Angeles, California. His father as in the military, thus providing Tommy with many experiences growing up in many states including Hawaii.
He joined the air force right out of high school and served for 27 years. He married the love of his life, Georgia Shirley Pope, on April 6th, 1954. They met whilst he was stationed at Hill Air Force Base, in Ogden, Utah. This is a story that he never tired of telling. They were here, together on Earth, for 62 years before the passing of Georgia in December of 2016. They are together now once again, joyous, as their love continues.
Tommy had a wonderful career during his service, and it led him and his family to many states, as well as overseas. He worked on the development of both missiles and airplanes. After his retirement from the Air Force, he began a second career with Lockheed Martin, “Skunk Works,” on more classified projects. His favorite being the F117 Stealth Fighter. Tommy retired for Lockheed in 2000 and he and Georgia retired to Utah, Georgia’s home.
Tommy loved cars. He started as a teenager working on and rebuilding them. You could usually find him at classic car shows. He would go into detail about the ones he had owned throughout his life. He was a “tinkerer” and could fix anything! He has imparted much of this knowledge to his grandson Matt. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved cooking and entertaining at his home. His family was his greatest joy. He became a dialysis patient this past year and his son in law, Keith, was his driver and lunch buddy after treatment, he loved food and conversation.
He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia, his parents Marlon and Dula, his brother Curtis, his son in law Scott Lamoure and his grandson Jackson Lamoure. He is survived by his daughters Tina (Lamoure), Kay (Jacques), son in law Keith Jacques and his grandson “light of his life” Matthew Thomas LaMoure.
