It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Troy Kay Anderson, 49, returned to his Heavenly Father on August 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. His devoted Wife and family were by his side when he passed, supporting him to the end.
Troy was born on September 11, 1974, to Kevin and Diane Anderson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up in Magna, Utah, he was a good and loving son and enjoyed learning all he could in school. He would often make his high school friends laugh and enjoy their time with him. While at Cyprus High School, Troy participated in choir and photography and enjoyed being president of the Juggling Club, which he showed off at the talent show his senior year (the punchline here is that *every member* of the club was president).
Troy’s love for fun and adventure continued into adulthood. On December 21, 2012 (the last day of the Mayan calendar), Troy was married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to his best friend, soulmate, and the love of his life, Chalene Larsen. She feels the same way about him, and she's grateful that Troy will always be (as she put it) “mine, mine, mine.”
Troy and Chalene loved going to amusement parks of all kinds; their favorite one was The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. He was an avid fan of video games and loved watching fantasy and science fiction movies and tv shows, especially the Harry Potter, superhero, and Stargate series. They also had fun traveling and going on cruises and on similar adventures. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family in their condo in St. George and going on family outings to Florida and other places.
Troy loved being a BSA scoutmaster and enjoyed fishing and hunting even though he hardly went. He was also a true patriot who loved his country. A lifelong learner, Troy was valedictorian of his class when earning his Associate’s Degree in Network and System Administration from Mountain West College. He continued to improve his skills and mind, earning many certificates, most recently his Google Cybersecurity Certificate. His education and skills helped him with his computer business, CGPC, Inc. He was proud to be a computer geek.
Troy is survived by his wife Chalene (Larsen) Anderson, mother Diane L. Anderson, sister Stacy Shocklee (Patrick) along with nephew Tanner Lewis Shocklee, niece Madisyn Stormy Shocklee (Bryson) and grandniece Tinsley, grandfather Alvin Swen Anderson, and a host of beloved cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by Kevin Jay Anderson (father), Donna Yates Anderson (grandmother), Leonard Richard Lewis (grandfather), Mary Smith Lewis (grandmother), and Ronald Richard Lewis (uncle).
An evening viewing will be held on Sunday, August 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the church at 2030 W Chapel Ridge Road, Lehi UT. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Monday, August 26, 2024, with a viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service. A luncheon will be served afterward for family and friends. Graveside services will follow the luncheon at Wasatch Lawns Cemetery.
