Vania Cladie Christenson

On November 12th, 2023 in the warm glow of love, with daughters and caretakers by her side, Vania Thomson Christenson of Salt Lake City, Utah set sail into the wide blue yonder and returned to her Maker. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 18th, 1935 to Cladie & Ted Thomson. As a young woman she met and married her lifelong partner Vern Christenson. They had 3 very spirited daughters Julie, Valecia and Janae who gave her the joy of 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Vania also loved and always looked after her younger sisters Noreen and Deborah Thomson. Vania worked for 25 years as an accountant and payroll manager. After retiring she found hidden artistic talents in painting and gardening. She loved living in St. George Utah and always looked forward to summers in Bear Lake, Idaho. Her interest in a good story journeyed her through countless books and she found communion in studying the Bible with others. She also volunteered with the Assistance League. Late in life Vania cared for her "cotton ball" maltese dogs brothers Jake & Joey whom she adored and now joins her in heaven. The family would like to give deep gratitude to the Sister Angels: Taina, Makovina, Heleine and Elevina who befriended, loved and tenderly chaperoned Vania through the last part of her life. Preceded in death by: husband Vern Christenson, mother & father and 2 nephews Laramie and Colter. Survived by: Daughters Julie Anderson (Scott), Valecia Warner (Larry) and Janae Galanis (Robert), sisters Noreen and Deborah Thomson, grandchildren Tony, Tyler and Courtney Anderson, Muranda Barker and Matt Warner, Zachary and Ian Galanis and nephew Cody Huntzinger. Service: Monday, November 20th 2023 at 1:30 pm, Heber City Cemetery, 550 E Karl Nelson Drive, Heber City, Utah. Heber Graveside Service provided by Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
