

Born Dec 16, 1933 in Magna, UT to Frank and Edith West Pehrson. Married Marguerite Hamblin in 1954. She preceded him in death in 1996. He married Sharon Taylor in 1996. He moved as a child from Magna to Salt Lake City and earned his Eagle Scout award there. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 25th Infantry Division and received several combat infantry awards. He attended the University of Utah and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed for 33 years by Hercules Inc., working on the design and development of rocket motors for submarine ballistic missile systems. He held patents on several navy rocket motor systems. He served as president of the Granger JC and was 4 times president of the Holladay Gun Club. He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed touring and showing his restored 1959 Thunderbird, winning many awards. He was an AA skeet shooter and avid duck hunter. He was a High Priest in the LDS church, serving as Executive Secretary and Ward Clerk.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pehrson and his stepchildren: Jerry North, Carey Smith, David “Randy” Smith, Scott Smith, Lisa Schow, Robin Olson, Tracy Smith, Jeff Sevy, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved his kind spirit and infectious smile.
Viewings will be held on Monday, Dec 4rd from 12pm to 2pm at the Sienna Hills LDS Church off of Washington Parkway exit 13, Washington, UT and on Wednesday Dec 6th from 11am to 1pm at the LDS church at 6350 S Rodeo Lane in Murray, UT. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr, Salt Lake City, UT
