William D Reese

William Douglas Reese, 89, passed away on May 30, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born September 2, 1925 in Castle Dale, Utah to William Reese and Laura Maree Hickman. He married Muriel Carlson, on March 18, 1948 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 18, 1978. Muriel passed away on March 11, 1996. He later married Judy Shurtleff on September 19, 1998. Bill served for 4 years in the U.S. Army during World War II. Afterwards he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in business. He later worked for Utah Power & Light Company for many years in public affairs. He loved to hunt, fish, ride horses, and enjoyed spending time at his cabin at the Yellowstone Ranch. His greatest love of all was for his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Judy, her children and grandchildren, and his 2 sons Robin (Judy Winder) and Mark (Julie Van Wagenen) and his grandchildren Tom (Bethany), Anne, Susan, Taylor (Emily), Christopher, Aaron, and his great-grandchildren Ainsley, Sam, and Brooks, as well as brothers Ray and Bliss Jensen. The family would like to thank Alta Ridge Assisted Living in Holladay for their kind and compassionate care. A viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn (3401 South Highland Dr., SLC, UT) on Saturday, June 6, 10-11:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at noon.
