1927 ~ 2014
Surrounded by the love of her family, our sweet, beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend slipped away May 5, 2014 into the awaiting arms of her husband.
Wilma was born August 1, 1927 to Alva Wilmot Keller and Edith Nichol Keller in East Millcreek, UT. Wilma grew up on the family farm, homesteaded by her father next to the creek, and graduated from Granite High School. She would often share her fond memories of the life she experienced growing up as the youngest of seven children in a loving family on Keller Lane. She married the love of her life, Darl Clement Hansen on April 2, 1947 and was sealed in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple on June 9, 1950. She devoted herself to him and the family they created for the next 67 years. Together with Darl she raised three children; Greg, Bruce, and Christi (Tanner). Wilma loved her children, and she made sure joy and happiness were integral parts of their childhood. As a grandma she spoiled her grandchildren at every opportunity, and completely adored her great-grandchildren. She took great pleasure in any chance she had to be around her family. Wilma also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and reading anything she could, especially about Native American History. Wilma spent several years working at both the Foothill Clinic and Mildred's Flowers in Millcreek and cherished the friends she made during that time. Wilma was known for her generosity and kindness, values she exemplified throughout her life.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Darl, her son Greg, (Laurie Hansen Hunter, Cedar City, UT), and her five older brothers; Reed, Grant, Lyle, Kenneth, and Sylvan.
Wilma is survived by her son Bruce, Holladay, UT, her daughter Christi Tanner (Morris) Midway, UT, and her sister Mae Keller Langston (Ray), Millcreek UT, as well as 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Wilma and her family would like to thank all the great friends, neighbors, church members, co-workers, and family that helped with the extra care that she and Darl needed during the last few years. She and Darl truly loved and appreciated all of you.
As a tribute to her life, please give a flower to someone you care about, and tell them to be careful.
Services celebrating her life will be held at 11 am on Saturday May 10, 2014 at the East Millcreek Ward Chapel, 3408 S Celeste Way, East Millcreek, UT. Viewings will be held Friday May 9 from 6-8 and Saturday before the memorial service from 10-11am at the East Millcreek Ward Chapel.
