Wilma was born October 24, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Earl Dowdle and Caroline Emma Kearn Patterson. She was one of five children raised in a happy household. She has shared countless fond memories of her mom, dad, beloved siblings and big family gatherings at her grandparents’ home in Millcreek- a home which still stands directly across the street from her home today. She graduated from South High School.
Wilma and her sister Marilyn met two handsome young brothers and became sisters-in-law when Wilma married Oliver Clyde Webster on May 16, 1946. They were blessed with four children, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Wilma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and while raising a family was very active, serving in the Presidency of both the Primary and the Relief Society. She also worked in administration in the medical field.
Wilma simply adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. She was actively involved in their lives, creating magic, fun, adventure, and happy memories. She was there when they needed her, and she had a way of making each one of them feel as if they were the “most special”. Wilma also had strong connections and great love for her many nieces and nephews.
Wilma never met a stranger in her life. She was kind and generous in so many ways; always putting others first. She set a wonderful example for us. She welcomed all of her children’s friends into her home and heart and many stayed in life-long contact and were simply considered family. Wilma loved reading, doing genealogy, being in the outdoors, and her wandering spirit took us on many adventures.
