Adeline Alessi, 98, of Miller Place, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a family who adored her, and a legacy of love that will live on for generations.
Adeline’s life was defined by love, devotion, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to her family. A kind-hearted and generous woman, she had a way of making those around her feel loved and cared for. She was strong, determined, and wonderfully feisty, with a spirit that remained uniquely her own throughout her 98 years.
Perhaps the greatest love story of Adeline’s life began on a subway in Brooklyn. She was just 18 years old when she met Joey, who had returned home from serving in World War II. What began as a chance encounter grew into a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion. Married for 75 beautiful years, Adeline and Joey built a life together rooted in family, loyalty, and countless memories. When her beloved soulmate passed away, a part of Adeline went with him. Now, they are reunited once again, together as they were always meant to be.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Adeline’s greatest joy was her family. Her love was expressed in the meals she lovingly prepared, the sacrifices she made, and the countless ways she made sure those she loved were cared for. A talented seamstress and a hard-working woman, she carried her strength and determination into everything she did. She found happiness in cooking for her family, spending time with those closest to her, and, of course, enjoying a trip to the casino, where her feisty side was always sure to shine through.
Adeline is now reunited with her beloved husband, Joey; her cherished son in law, Vinny; and her dear sister, Mary, all of whom passed before her. Though their absence was deeply felt, the love they shared remains forever woven into the fabric of her family.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her loving children, Joanne, Joseph and his wife Anna; her grandchildren, Teri, Michael, Amie, Joseph, and Jessica; and her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kenny, Leah, Vincent, Adaleigh, Lucia, and Catalina. Her legacy lives on in each of them, through the values she instilled, the traditions she passed down, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Adeline will be remembered as a cherished matriarch, a devoted wife and mother, a generous soul, and a strong, kind-hearted woman who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived life with a little fire in her spirit. Her family was her greatest accomplishment, her kitchen was a place of comfort and togetherness, and her love was a gift that will never fade.
Though she will be profoundly missed, her family can find comfort in knowing that after a lifetime of love, Adeline is once again in the arms of her Joey, reunited with the soulmate she never stopped missing.
A love story that began on a Brooklyn subway, lasted 75 years in marriage, and will continue for eternity.
May she rest peacefully, forever loved, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
