Anthony Louis Germano

Anthony Louis Germano, of Mt. Sinai, N.Y. passed away on February 21, 2018. He is the beloved husband of Rita. Loving father of Lisa Anne Germano-Meyer and her husband Michael and Anthony Germano and his wife Janet. Cherished grandfather of Samantha Rose, Natalie Emma and Jessica Rose. Reposing at the O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 1001 Rt. 25A, Miller Place, N.Y. Visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 am. Monday at the Chapel at St. Charles Hospital, 200 Belle Terre Rd., Port Jefferson, N.Y. Burial with honors to follow at Calverton National Cemetery. Anthony was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was fortunate enough to be stationed in Hawaii. He continued to serve his country and was an active US Coast Guard, Army, and Air Force Reservist. He worked for Grumman and eventually became a Correctional Officer with the Suffolk County Sheriffs Department. He was COBA President, where he fought tirelessly to improve work conditions and benefits for his fellow officers. He was involved in community relations, where he lectured in various high schools on Long Island. Anthony was also an Investigator for The Personnel Investigations Bureau.This position brought him great pride and professional fufillment. Anthony was an avid golfer, loved to fish, travel, and play cards with his weekly card groups. He was a loyal and protective husband, father,grandfather,uncle,cousin,and friend. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. His family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Good Shepherd Hospice who treated him with such love, dignity, and respect, during his last days on earth. He was truly blessed and thankful for the compassion showed to him. May he Rest In Peace with all his departed family and friends and continue to watch over all those he loved so dearly.
