Barbara and her late husband Ralph Started Ralph's fishing Station Inc. on Mt. Sinai Harbor in 1961. She especially loved seeing her great grandchildren, her trips to Mohegan Sun with Dori, doing puzzles, making cards, and her computer.

This year will be the 50th year that she would have organized the Maryhaven Fishing Trip. It was one of the many community events that included Veteran barbecues and fishing trips, and Alzheimer fundraisers. Barbara will be missed by all.....

Coming to the old Fishing Station as a teenager and friend to Sue was quite a memory for me. Mrs. "D" made the best breakfasts and was awake and running every day. She catered to all and just about never said "NO" to anyone!
When I worked with Sue later on.....I hated the worms. She even taught me that the task was easy even though I cringed with every box!
Her decorations in the counters at Christmas were magnificent.
Her true dedication and love to family and friends went beyond anyone I know.
Our memories of her will last a long time. We will cherish all those memories.

Aunt Barbara you will forever live in my heart!!! I have so many found memories visiting the station as a young girl. Then you gave me the opportunity of being an employee. I appreciate and will always thank you and your family for supporting me and taking me in under your wing. I love you and always will.....god bless!!! ❤️❤️ 💕💕xoxo

Mrs. D. and Ralph Sr. hired me for my very first job. I was one of the many “gas girls” aka attendants on the dock. Back in the day when I had to manually STOP the gas pumps after a boat fueled up. Mrs.D. always seemed to enjoy the company of her customers. She had a very generous heart for giving back to the community. The Davenport’s also threw an amazing Christmas party which included Toys for Tots gift giving. Ralph’s Fishing Station was family run and Mrs. D. and Ralph treated their employees as family. Thank you for the memories!

My memory of Barbara Davenport was simply that she always had a kind welcoming demeanor so that it was never anything but a pleasant experience visiting RFS. Its also wonderful that those qualities were passed to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their extended families. What a wonderful world we’d have if everyone had her qualities. She surely will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to all she has left here; peace!
