Carmela created a beautiful life alongside her beloved husband, Tony. Together, they shared countless memories and built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family bonds. Their love was reflected in their children and extended into the lives of their grandchildren, whom Carmela cherished deeply.
A dedicated educator, Carmela was a longtime English and reading teacher in the Patchogue-Medford School District. She had a true gift for teaching and provided her students not only with knowledge, but with care, patience, and encouragement. Her impact was felt by the many whose lives she touched throughout her career.
Creativity and kindness were at the heart of who Carmela was. She loved quilting and creating beautiful handmade artwork, which she generously donated to organizations in need. She lovingly made hats for newborns at Stony Brook Hospital, masks when they were needed most, and blankets for families welcoming new babies. Her compassion was evident in every stitch.
Carmela also found joy in gardening and tending to her flowers, as well as reading—especially fiction. She was rarely without a book in her hands. During the holidays, she was well known for baking her cherished Christmas cookies. Carmela and Tony would lovingly wrap and share them with family and friends, continuing a tradition that brought warmth and joy to many.
Above all else, Carmela was a devoted family woman. She loved her children dearly and took immense pride in her grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and enthusiastically cheering them on at concerts and sporting events.
Carmela will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Tony Fuoco; her loving children, Anthony (Christine) Fuoco and Cara (James) Buonconsiglio; and her cherished grandchildren, John, Michael, and Gracie. Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
