Carmela Lorenzo

Carmela Lorenzo, born on June 11, 1928 in Queens, NY, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 97. The youngest of a family of 9 children, she is the last to join her loved ones in heaven. Married for 62 years to Frank Lorenzo, who passed in August 2010, she had two daughters, Georgette (passed in March 2021) and Sandra, two grandchildren, Cheryl and Christopher, and four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Makayla and Savannah. Her family was very important to her. She was the best, most loving, generous and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A very thoughtful, caring and kind woman, “Millie” was always willing to help anyone in need, and had the ability to make everyone feel special and loved with her warm greetings. She touched many people’s hearts. A devoted Catholic, she attended mass weekly, and prayed for her family and friends. She looked to the Virgin Mary for guidance and comfort throughout her life. She lived a full life enjoying many activities such as reading, gardening, mahjong and bingo. Cleaning was her passion and there was a place for everything and everything in its place. Focused on health and good nutrition, she enjoyed Tai Chi and loved speed walking. At 97 years of age and a recent resident at The Bristal in Holtsville, NY, she still had her strength and sparkle, and will be greatly missed.

Visitation services will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY, 11764, on July 25, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St Mark Roman Catholic Church, 105 Randall Avenue, Shoreham, NY, on July 26, 2025, at 10:30 am.
